Post University's Women's Basketball Wins Over Concordia 65-55

WATERBURY, Conn (February 9, 2010) Post University's Women's Basketball team picked up their sixth win of the season over Concordia Tuesday night 65-55. The win improves the Eagles to 6-14, 2-10 CACC. Concordia falls to 1-21, 1-13 CACC.

Post University's Aubrey Latham scored 24 points with 18 rebounds, including shooting 11-of-11 from the free throw line. Monique Chance added a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Concordia was led by Dana Rommel with 18 points.

For the first ten minutes of the opening stanza, the lead changed hands and did not grow to more than two points. Made field goals from Latham, Chance, and Casey Brooks propelled the Eagles to an eight point edge. By halftime Post University had a 31-27 lead.

In the second half, the Eagles once again built an eight point advantage. With 11:48 to play Concordia's Shari Cordero put the Clippers up by one at the free throw line. The lead would grow to six points over the next two minutes. 

With 7:03 to play, Chance scored in the paint tying the game at 47. From that point forward Post University extended the lead to ten after Mallorie Michalak hit a three with 2:44 to play.
In the final two minutes of play, the Eagles would shoot 7-of-8 from the charity stripe on their way to a 65-55 win.

Post University will be back in action again at home on Thursday night against Goldey Beacom. Game time is set for 6pm.
