Post University Women's Basketball Loses to #18 Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 13, 2010) Post University's Women's Basketball team fell to No. 18 Holy Family on Saturday afternoon 82-63. The Eagles are now 6-15, 2-11 CACC, while Holy Family improves to 21-1, 14-0 CACC.
Post University was led by
Elizabeth Johnson with 14 points.
Taylor Doyle added 12. Shanea Williams scored 22 points with 8 rebounds for the Tigers. Holy Family out-rebounded Post University 43-24 in the contest.
Holy Family opened the game with guns blazing going on a relentless 18-0 run over the first five minutes of the game. The streak was finally broken by Johnson after she scored a bucket in the paint. The Tigers would continue to keep the pressure up throughout the first half leading 48-20 at the break.
Out of the locker room the Eagles went on a run of their own scoring 10 unanswered buckets. With 15:26 to play the Tiger lead would be at its lowest point since the early moments of the game at 20. Over the next eight minutes, Holy Family reignited their dominance by extending the lead back to 32.
For the final 7:30 of the game, the Eagles stayed focused and were able to cut back into the Tiger lead. Post University chipped 11 points off Holy Family's advantage to a final score of 83-62.
Post University's Women's Basketball team will be back in action again on the road Tuesday night at Bloomfield.
