Box Score
BRONXVILLE, NY (December 7, 2010) Post University's women's basketball team rallied from an early 11 point deficit to grab their first conference win of the season Tuesday night in Bronxville, NY against Concordia 62-53.
The Eagles (2-6, 1-1 CACC) were led by Kelli Reynolds with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Raven Wright-James netted a double double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Concordia's (1-6, 0-2 CACC) Krystina Agard and Shelley Monahan had 12 points each.
Concordia built a 19-8 margin less than ten minutes into the first half as the Eagles looked to be in trouble, until Post University went on a 16-0 run en route to a 30-25 halftime edge.
The run was a combined team effort that started with a three pointer from Wright-James, followed by a pair of free throws by Monique Chance. Reynolds found the bottom of the net on a jumper and Colleen Hanscom cut the lead to one with a bucket from beyond the arc.
Wright-James and Chance sparked the Eagle offense out of the locker room and combined with another jumper from Reynolds putting the lead back up to eight.
The Clippers mounted a comeback to tie the game with 5:31 left in regulation, but it would not stay that way for long. Mallorie Michalak connected on her only three pointer of the night and Wright-James hit one of her own to extend the Eagle advantage.
Concordia decided to foul down the stretch with the Eagles making only 3-of-6 from the line, but were able to force two turnovers in the closing minutes to secure a 62-53 victory.
Post University will host Felician Thursday night at the Drubner Center. Tip-off is slated for 6pm.
