No Mercy: Women's Basketball drops Lady Mavs, 65-53

WATERBURY, Conn. (December 29, 2010) Raven Wright-James exploded for a season-high 26 points, and  Post University outclassed Mercy College, 65-53, at the Drubner Center Wednesday night.
 
Wright-James was outstanding all game long, scoring will in the low block. She also knocked down 5 of 7 shots from three-point range, and grabbed 8 rebounds in a dominant performance. 

Post University (4-7, 2-2 CACC) dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Lady Mavericks, 56-37. Diaysha Brewington led the Eagles with 13 rebounds. Monique Chance added 9 boards for the Eagles.

Mercy (2-8, 0-3 ECC) was led by guard Simone Williams, who scored 15 points and dished out 8 assists. Ashley Borofsky scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Lady Mavs, who lost their sixth straight game.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Mercy College on November 29, but was postponed due to an equipment malfunction.

 As a result, Mercy was officially recognized as the home team, despite wearing their road uniforms and sitting on the visitors' bench. 

The Eagles broke the game open with a 10-3 run late in the first half that turned a four point lead into a 30-19 advantage. Post University took a 34-21 lead into the break. 

The Eagles return to action January 8 when they face Wilmington University in Waterbury's most famous arena, the Drubner Center.
