WATERBURY, Conn (December 29, 2010) Tonight, the Eagles (3-7, 2-2 CACC) will face the Mercy College Mavericks in a non-conference battle. Post University is coming off of a convincing 84-72 win over Nyack on December 11. Five different Eagles scored in double figures in that game, led by forward Raven Wright-James, who scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Post University women's basketball team is currently ranked 6th in the nation for three point defense as reported by the NCAA.
The Eagles have played 10 games this season and have only allowed 3.1 three pointers per contest holding opponents to 22.8 percent shooting from long range. The season low for the Eagles came in the opening weekend against St. Rose and Lock Haven as Post University held their opponents to only two three point buckets in each game.
Post University is also ranked 33rd nationally in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to 34.7 percent shooting.
Mercy (2-7, 0-3 East Coast Conference) is led by guards Simone Williams and Ashley Borofsky, who each average 12 points per game.
Tonight's game was originally scheduled for November 29 in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Mercy will be officially recognized as the home team.
