Georgian Court Tops Women's Basketball 62-44

LAKEWOOD, NJ (January 30, 2010) Post University's Monique Chance netted 15 points Saturday afternoon in Lakewood, NJ in the Eagle's 62-44 point conference loss to Georgian Court. Post University now has a 5-13, 1-9 CACC record. Georgian Court improves to 6-12, 4-7 CACC.

Freshman Aubrey Latham added 12 points with nine rebounds for Post University. Georgian Court was led by Shawna Wert with 17, and Lauren Staats who scored 15.

In the opening half, the Eagles jumped to a three point lead. With less than six minutes to play, the game was tied for the 10th time of the half at 26. Georgian Court outshot the Eagles in the closing minutes of the half to hold a 41-32 point edge heading into the locker room. 

Georgian Court held a slight 50-48 field goal shooting percent advantage in the first twenty minutes.

With a nine point lead heading into the second, the Lions extended the advantage to 15 in the first five minutes. With seven minutes to play in the game, the lead grew to 19. Both teams struggled shooting from the floor in the second half. The Lions outscored the Eagles 21-12 during that time en route to a 62-44 victory.

Post University's Women's Basketball team will be back in action again Tuesday night in Waterbury against Nyack. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
