Post University's Women's Basketball Loses to Felician 69-54

WATETBURY, Conn (January 28, 2010) Post University's Women's Basketball team lost a conference game to Felician College Thursday night at the Drubner Center in Waterbury, 69-54. The Eagles now have a (5-12, 1-7 CACC record). Felician improves to (11-6, 5-4 CACC). 

Post University's Liz Johnson scored 15 points with 8 rebounds. Junior Mallorie Michalak added 14 points. Felician was led by Janelle Biamonte with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Quay Baskerville netted 15.

With over ten minutes to play in the first half, the Golden Falcons held a 20-11 point advantage. Felician shot 46.9 percent from the floor, and 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Eagles struggled shooting 9-27 in the opening stanza and trailed at the half 41-26.

In the second half, Felician controlled the play for the first ten minutes but a three point bucket from Michalak and four made free throws from the combination of Michalak and Taylor Doyle put the Eagles back in the game. With 6:07 to play Felician lead 56-45. 

The Eagles would miss layups down the stretch while Felician's Biamonte and Baskerville took advantage with three point shooting and layups of their own. The Golden Falcons held on for a 69-54 point win. 

Post University's Women's Basketball team will play on the road Saturday afternoon against Georgian Court. Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm.
