Nyack Defeats Women's Basketball 70-52

NYACK, NY (December 12, 2009) The Nyack Warriors defeated the Post University Eagles Women's Basketball team Saturday afternoon, 70-52 at Nyack. The loss drops the Eagles record to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the CACC.

Junior Elizabeth Johnson scored 13 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in the effort for the Eagles. Junir Kendra Pitts added 10 points. Nyack's Jasmine Minter scored a game high 17 points with 10 rebounds. Victoria Sweet had 13 points and 14 rebounds. 

Nyack jumped to an early 8-4 advantage in the game and was able to maintain their lead to 30-20 at the break. The Eagles were a perfect 6-6 from the line in the first half, but struggled from beyond the arc going 0-10.

With 10:54 to play in the game a jump shot from Nyack's Courtney Pay put the Warriors up by 22, the largest lead of the game. Nyack would cruise to hold onto the 70-52 win and bringing the team to 4-4 on the season. 

Post University will be back in action again on Tuesday January 5th at home against Caldwell.
