Women's Basketball Loses Heartbreaker to Southern 76-71

WATERBURY, Conn (November 21, 2009) Post University's Women's Basketball team came up just short of defeating Southern Connecticut State 76-71.
At halftime the Eagles trailed 35-32. The game was tied 15 times as the Eagles competed to the end.
With 4:58 to play in the second half, the Eagles held onto a 2 point lead, but free throws from Jacqueline Johannes would give Southern the lead for good. Shanika Hines made a three point bucket with only 9 seconds to play closing Post University within three.
Logan Lents hit two clutch free throws in the closing seconds to seal the deal as the owls earned their third win of the season.
The Eagles host Mercy Tuesday night beginning at 6pm.
