WATERBURY, Conn. -Â Beginning in the 2014 academic year, all three Post University Equestrian Teams (IDA Dressage, IHSA Hunt Seat and Western) are returning to being housed in the Athletic Department after several years of being housed in the Equine Department.
This change was made to provide a more agreeable experience for the students and for them to have access to the Athletic Department's facilities as well as trainers. "We are very excited to have the three Equestrian teams join us in Athletics once again. They bring a well needed sense of diversity to the department that is greatly appreciated," said Director of Athletics
Michael Mannetti.
"I am looking forward to a seamless transition. I think the Equine Teams will benefit from the organizations and operations of the Athletic Department," says Abby Nemec, Director of Equine Programs.
The Equine Program encourages anyone to join any of the teams regardless of their choice of study or riding experience. Students interested in the Equestrian Teams should consider attending Equine Evening on Wednesday, Aug. 27, in MacDermid 116 at 5:30pm.Â
