David McGregor* Places 3rd at Southern California Tournament, Eagles 7th

MISSION VIEJO, CA (March 23, 2010) Post University's David McGregor* (74-78-72—224) shot one over par in the final round of the 60th Southern California Division II Tournament to finish in 3rd place, improving two positions on the final day. As a team Post University also improved two positions to a 7th place finish.
“I was only eight shots back heading into today's round and I knew if I shot well enough and kept focused, I could win the tournament,” said McGregor. “This course is about the greens because they are so quick making putting ball in the right place crucial to set yourself up for a short putt.”
The conditions throughout the tournament could not have been better under sunny California skies. Even with the beautiful weather, the first day of the tournament was long and tiresome with competitors playing two rounds.
“You don't sign up for golf knowing it is always going to be short day,” added McGregor. “You just do what needs to be done to win. I came up short today, but I am proud of the effort.”
Lee Wanklyn (79-81-81—241) and Thomas Rees (81-81-79---241) were tied for in 24th in the final results. Gavin Wilson (90-84-79—253) finished 45th, while Marchant de Villier (85-90-85—260) was 50th.
Post University will be back in action again on April 8th-10th at the Dowling Invitational.
