Sarah Lallemand (Orp-Le-Grand, Belgium) placed third overall in the heptathlon at the UNC Charlotte 49er Classic held on Thursday and Friday at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center in Charlotte, N.C.
On day one of the event, Lallemand began with the 100m hurdles and won her section with a time of 16.50, placing 6
th overall. She was fourth in the high jump at 1.55m. In the shot put, Lallemand recorded a personal-best with a distance of 10.23, good for third place.
Lallemand won her section of the 200m in a strong headwind with a time of 27.94, placing fifth overall. After four events, she was in fourth place with 2513 points.
Day two began for Lallemand with a second-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.12m. In the javelin, her least-experienced event, Laalleman placed eighth with a distance of 23.87m. She followed that up with a second-place performance in the final event, the 800m, at a time of 2:29.68.
She finished the heptathlon in third as the top Division II athlete with 4163 points.
