WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team honored its lone senior
Nardie Bogues (Baltimore, Md.) before the game to celebrate his final regular season game at the Drubner Center. Over the course of his final season, Bogues averaged 35.6 minutes per game, totaled 304 points, 111 assists, 97 rebounds, and led the Eagles to an 11-8 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record. Post finished its regular season on a high note defeating the Georgian Court Lions by a score of 71-62 on Saturday, Feb. 21.

First-year
Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) led the way with 29 points and 15 rebounds (eight offensive) and added three blocks with no turnovers. Mareno shot 63 percent from the field. Junior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) dropped 16 points as Bogues finished with 11 points and five assists. Â

The Drubner Center was buzzing from tip off. The action was back-and-forth from the beginning. Mareno got off to a hot start scoring eight of the first 10 Eagle points. With five minutes remaining in the first, the score was knotted at 23 apiece. Georgian Court found a rhythm and pulled away to a 10-point advantage. Bogues nailed a much need three-pointer before the half and the Eagles went into the locker room trailing 37-32.

The Eagles clawed their way back into the game and took the lead with 13 minutes remaining. Seymour broke another tie score with a shot from behind the arch to give his team a 53-50 advantage, and the Eagles never looked back. Post was able to capitalize off Lion turnovers as well as second chance opportunities. Post grabbed 22 offensive rebounds compared to Georgian Court's nine. The Eagles managed to shoot at a high percentage from the charity stripe down the stretch to secure the 71-62 victory.
Post finished the regular season at 12-13 overall, and 11-8 in conference. Georgian Court stands at 5-20 overall, and 2-16 in conference with one game remaining. The outcome of the Bloomfield vs. Caldwell game on Tuesday, Feb. 24 will determine whether Post will host a playoff game or travel.Â
