Baseball Leads The Way With Five Honorees

CACC Spring All-Academic

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thirteen Post University student-athletes were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring All-Academic Team on Monday. The baseball team led the way with five honorees.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the Spring. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring semester.

Jackson Geary (Wakefield, R.I./M.B.A) and Jesus Nunez (Bronx, N.Y./Computer Information Systems) of the baseball team each were honored for the second consecutive year. Alex Beland (Trois-Rivere, Quebec/Business Administration), Julien Casaubon (Jiolette, Quebec/Accounting) and Ian Ratchford (Danbury, Conn./Legal Studies) were all selected for the first time.

Women's lacrosse boasted three All-Academic student-athletes led by Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass./Biology) who earned the honor for the second time. Polaski was named Capital One Academic All-Region earlier this month. Jasana Levy (Meriden, Conn./Legal Studies) and Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass./Sport Management) made their first appearance.

The Post softball and men's golf teams each had two student-athletes honored. Christina Udris (Levittown, Pa./Early Childhood Education) was selected for the second time while Kaitlin Iacomini (Pleasant Valley, N.Y./Psychology) made her first appearance. Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill./Marketing) was also honored for the first time and Ross Earnshaw (York, England/Sport Management) boasted his third straight appearance.

Brina Yanez (West Haven, Conn./Business Administration) was honored for the second time, but her first as a member of the women's track and field team. Last year, Yanez was named All-Academic as a member of the women's lacrosse team.

A total of 154 student-athletes from the 14 conference institutions earned a spot on the team. Softball led the conference with 49 total selections.
