NEW CASTLE, Del. – Senior Julien Casaubon (Jiolette, Quebec) of the Post University baseball team received the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Top XIV Award at the annual awards banquet on Wednesday night. The honor is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each championship.

Casaubon, an accounting major, currently holds a 3.807 GPA. This season the first baseman leads Post with a .319 batting average, seven home runs, and 25 RBI. His seven homers are tops in the CACC and he is fourth in the conference in on-base (.428) and slugging percentage (.536). The senior made just two errors and is tied for second in the CACC among first basemen with a .994 fielding percentage.

The CACC Top XIV Award is modeled after the NCAA Elite 89 Award and is a direct product of the CACC Strategic Plan. In order to be considered, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing as well as a member of the active roster.  If there is a tie, it will be broken by the number of credit hours earned. This is the first year the award has been given out.

Casaubon is the second student-athlete from Post to receive the honor this year after sophomore Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) of the men's soccer team earned the award in the fall.

The sixth-seeded Eagles will play in the CACC Tournament on Thursday, May 8 against second-seed Felician at 11:30 a.m. in New Castle, Del.
