Miranda Polaski Named Capital One Academic All-Region

First Post Lacrosse Student-Athlete To Earn Honor

Capital One Academic All-Region

WATERBURY, Conn. – Junior Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) of the Post University women's lacrosse team was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

Polaski boasts a 3.98 GPA and is currently working on a degree in Biology. She is the first member of the lacrosse team to ever earn the honor.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher and be enrolled at the institution for more than two semesters. The award recognizes individuals for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. By virtue of her selection, Polaski is eligible for Academic All-American status.

In April, Polaski was named Second Team All-CACC. This season she became the second player to score 100 goals in her career and is Post's all-time leading goal scorer at 103 goals in her career. She finished the year as the team-leader in goals (42), assists (37), points (79), ground balls (70), caused turnovers (32), and draw controls (78). Polaski led the CACC and was top-15 in the NCAA in ground balls (2nd), assists (9th), caused turnovers (10th), points (13th), and draw controls (15th).

Post had its best season in school history finishing with a 4-12 record including a 4-8 CACC record, good for third in the North Division.
