TOWSON, Md. – Senior
Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) of the Post University men's soccer team was named to the Capitol One Academic All-America Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the second-consecutive season on Monday. He was one of just seven East Region players to be honored and the only one from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings and be nominated by the school's sports information director. The student-athlete must also have been named First Team Academic All-District.

Baccielo was named CACC Player of the Year as he finished near the top of the conference in goals (11) and points (27). He led Post with six game-winning scores, most notably a goal in the 87
th minute to defeat then No. 1 LIU-Post on Oct. 23. The senior was named CACC and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week this season.

On the pitch this season, the Eagles had one of its best seasons in program history, finishing with a 15-3-2 record and earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the second-consecutive season. Post reached as high as No. 5 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll and won the CACC Regular Season Title for the third straight year.
