WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's basketball team participated in a 5K Run/Walk to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Sunday, Oct. 6.
"I want to commend the players in our program for volunteering their time for such a worthy cause. It is definitely special when you win a basketball game, but nothing is more rewarding than helping those in need," said head coach
Stephen Schuler.
The event was held at Post University and put on by the Residence Hall Association. About 50 people participated and the event raised over $1,200.
"It was awesome seeing the community around Post come together with such energy and passion and help raise awareness for such an amazing cause. We really would like to thank Coach Schuler and the women's basketball team for coming out and supporting our event," added Residence Hall Association President Eryka Baez.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 and is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find the cures.
