Box Score

WILMINGTON, Del. – The No. 15 Post University men's team won its sixth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Wilmington. Sophomore Francisco Sastre (Sao Paolo, Brazil) scored twice in the victory and added an assist.

"We played poorly in the first half, but we turned it on in the second and really took it to them," said head coach Ted Haley.

The Wildcats (8-3, 4-2 CACC) got on the board early as the conference's leading goal-scorer, Elton Joe, beat senior Andre Lindsay (Clarnedon, Jamaica) from 25 yards out in the ninth minute. Post had a chance late in the half but a shot from freshman Patrick DeAngelo (Danbury, Conn.) was saved by the keeper.

Post (8-1, 6-1 CACC) took the lead in the second half with two quick goals. Sastre tied the score in the 58th minute with a shot deflected off the defender into the goal. Senior Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) scored two minutes later off a pass from Sastre to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

The Eagles put the game away with another score in the 72nd minute. Senior Kevin Ipina (Danbury, Conn.) found Sastre on the left side. Sastre shot it to the right side for his second goal of the game and fifth in the last four games.

"We are road warriors and have grown accustom to playing difficult road matches. I'm glad the guys have been able to handle the pressure and come home with good results," added Haley.

Post outshot Wilmington 9-2 in the second half and 15-7 overall. Baccielo led the Eagles with five shots. Lindsay recorded two saves in the victory.

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at home against Felician. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
