Eagles Give Back To Community In Benefit For Sandy Hook School Families

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – On Sunday, Jan. 27, the Post University men's tennis team volunteered its time at the Middlebury Racquet Club. The event was called Serving Up For Sandy Hook and was a fundraiser to benefit the community of Newtown, Conn. It was hosted by the Connecticut chapter of the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

“It was a great night and our team enjoyed giving back to all those who were affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook,” junior Danny Bonamassa said. “I think everyone had a lot of fun, there were plenty of laughs and I think happy memories were made for people going through a tough time.”

During the seven-hour event, there were a number of events for children of all ages and open and social play for adults. Additionally, there was a silent auction with various prizes and 100 percent of the donations and proceeds benefitted the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

The Middlebury Racquet Club is located at 950 Southford Road.
