Michelle Chadwick (Avon, Conn.) was announced as a nominee for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year award. A cross country and lacrosse student-athlete at Post, Chadwick is one of 429 student-athletes across all three divisions to be put up for 22
nd annual award. The NCAA Woman of the Year award was established in 1991 to celebrate the achievements of women in intercollegiate athletics.

Anthony Fallacaro said. “She was not only dedicated to her teams, but she embraced community service and academics during her time at Post. Having her recognized at the national level is great for Michelle and Post University.”
Chadwick was named the female recipient of the 2012 Raymond LaMoy Student-Athlete Award at the Post University Awards Banquet in April. The Raymond LaMoy Student-Athlete Award is selected based upon the following criteria: compassion for others, support of teammates, commitment to academic achievement, positive attitude and a role model exemplifying the spirit of honesty and integrity. The award was created on October 21, 2000, in memory of a great friend and supporter of the university, Mr. Raymond LaMoy. In addition, Chadwick was selected as Co-MVP of the women's cross country team.
She played 13 games in goal for the women's lacrosse program and made 118 saves on the season. Chadwick was ranked 41
st in the country in saves and 56
th in goals against average.
Away from the field of competition, she is enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a reserve and combat engineer. Additionally, she volunteered at various events on campus.
The field of 429 nominees will be narrowed to 30 student-athletes, 10 from each Division. From those 30 individuals, a selection committee will determine the top three in each division, and the top nine will be announced in September. The members of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics will vote to determine the 2012 Woman of the Year. In October, the 30 finalists will be honored at an annual ceremony in Indianapolis and the 2012 Woman of the Year will be crowned.
