NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Twelve student-athletes within the Post University Athletic Department garnered Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring All-Academic Honors on Friday in announcement by the conference office. In total 105 student-athletes from 14 conference schools were honored.
The softball program led the CACC with six student-athletes on the list. Among the honorees were three-time choice
Samantha Pagano (Marlboro, N.Y./Marketing), two-time selections
Kim Bentson (Brewster, N.Y./Biology),
Lianna May (King Ferry, N.Y./Business Administration) and
Johanna Rice (Glendale, N.Y./Accounting), while
Christina Marino (Mahopac, N.Y./Biology) and
Christina Udris (Levittown, Pa./Biology) earned their first career distinctions.
The Post golf team, which reached the NCAA Division II National Championship this season, notched three student-athletes on the CACC Spring All-Academic Team.
Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) was honored for the second straight year, while
Nick Cavallo (Watertown, Conn./Sport Management) and
Ross Earnshaw (York, England/Sport Management) earned a spot on the team for the first time.
The baseball, women's lacrosse and men's tennis teams each added one student-athlete to their respective all-academic teams.
Nick Bologna (Wantagh, N.Y./Criminal Justice) represented the baseball team, while
Jessica Kaszas (Bloomsbury, N.J./Sport Management) and
Mark Risbridger (South Hampton, England/Business Administration) garnered the honor for the women's lacrosse and men's tennis teams, respectively.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC-Championship sport in the spring. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the spring semester.
