NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four members of the Post University women's basketball team was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Winter All-Academic Team on Tuesday afternoon. The list was made up of 32 student-athletes from 14 schools within the conference and included sophomores
Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.),
Jessica Webber (Naugatuck, Conn.) and
Colleen Hanscom (Melrose, Mass.) and senior
Taylor Doyle (Mystic, Conn.).
Doyle, a sport management major, was one of three student-athletes in the conference to be named to the team for the third consecutive season. Wright-James, a psychology major, Webber, a legal studies major and Hanscom, a sport management major, were all named to the squad for the first time in their careers.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC-Championship sport in the winter. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the winter semester.
The women's basketball team finished the season on a four-game winning streak and won six of the last eight contests to close the season. Post notched its first 10-win season since 2005-06.
