WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's basketball and first year head coach Stephen Schuler will participate in the “Walk In Their Footsteps Race For Awareness” in Waterbury on Sunday, Oct. 28. The event will be held at Library Park in Waterbury.

“This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to give back to the local community and help those in need,” Schuler said. “We look forward to participating in more events in the Waterbury area as a means to represent Post University in its community.”

The event is raising funds and awareness for the programs of St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury, Inc. The non-profit organization provides housing, services and basic needs to adults and families struggling with homelessness, poverty, hunger, and mental illness, so that they may achieve their highest potential in the areas of wellness, recovery and independence.

The Eagles will open the 2012-13 season on Friday, Nov. 9, when they take on St. Rose in the Queens Tournament. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
