McGregor Named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars List

NORMAN, OK (July 21, 2011) Post University golfer David McGregor* has been named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars List for his successes during his senior year. Honorees are chosen by the Golf Coaches Association of America. McGregor is one of 210 student-athletes to receive the recognition.

“For David he took on a challenging course load with additional credits to graduates early,” said Pete Stevens, Post University Head Golf Coach. “Our team played golf competitively this spring with a schedule that made it difficult for him academically yet he was able to prevail becoming an Academic All-American.”

For McGregor, who graduated with a degree in Management this spring, it is the first time he has been recognized as an academic All-American. Jamie Blake, who graduated in 2009 as an Eagle golfer, was the last student-athlete at Post University to be named an Academic All-American.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II and NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 in Division I, II and III and 3.5 in NAIA. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
