WATERBURY, Conn (July 11, 2011) Construction of the much anticipated multipurpose synthetic turf athletic field at Post University is underway. Local contractor HI Stone has removed the first layer of topsoil from LaMoy Field in an effort to establish the initial grade for the revitalized field.
With the topsoil removed, as pictured below, contractors have begun working with transits to level the field close to its final height. Once a sub-grade is established, additional material will brought in to provide the level base needed for the new synthetic turf field playing surface.
Once the project is completed, the field will host Post University's men's and women's soccer teams, women's lacrosse, sprint football, as well as softball.
